About Sophie Cakes
Years ago when Sophie was born I wanted to make her first birthday cake myself. I had been baking and doing cakes for as long as I can remember, but just had been making it up as I went. So I took some classes to try to learn maybe the “right” way to ice a cake or pipe a border…what I found was a way for me to express my artistic talent. I’ve always enjoyed painting and baking and this seemed to put arts and baking together into one! We moved to North Carolina in February 2008 and with the encouragement of my husband and family, Sophie Cakes was born. I do custom cakes and cupcakes to order, weddings and special events. You can find my packaged cupcakes in LaDeDaa’s of Davidson Thursday through Saturday.
